The site of the former Turtle Creek Country Club will soon be home to a new multifamily housing complex.
San Antonio-based Franklin Development Properties Ltd. has received approval from the City Council to develop a 235-unit affordable housing complex at 3830 Parkdale Drive near the Medical Center. The 7.1-acre site was part of the former Turtle Creek Country Club and Planeta Mexico’s former San Antonio offices. The land was recently bought by the City of San Antonio for an undisclosed amount from previous local owner Agora Assets. Bob Helterbran and Lew Wood of Dallas-based Younger Partners represented the seller in the transaction. While it is not clear how much the project will cost, the development will be part of the $20 million voter-approved 2017-22 Neighborhood Improvements Bond Program. The new complex will be affordable for those earning 60 percent and below the area median income, which most recently was $66,800 for Bexar County.
